Have just set up XP on a Compaq LapTop. During set up I elected not to register at that time as my ADSL line was not set up. Now I cannot work out how to register. The online help tells me to click a register icon in the task bar but there is no such icon there!

All of a sudden, the CHKDSK for "Error Checking" starts arbitrarily & don't know why or how to fix it so it only checks when I manually ask it to, as I don'r like waiting 45 minutes when I first log in, unless I plan it that way. Any ideas are appreciated!
