I am using XPSP2, and DO NOT have any connection problems with my LAN that I
use to connect to the Internet over DSL.
However, I believe some hidden LAN connections are keeping me from being
able to see the status of an active LAN connection.  I can see the status

I have tried reseting Windows Firewall and Winsock using <netsh> command. I
get an message back saying, "Unable to reset Winsock Catalog. The system
cannot find the finle specified." I can't connect to the internet or my
laptop, even though I've run Network Connection Wizard ...

I had to wipe out my pc and start over but now it says that my ethernet
driver and a few others are not there... I am so computer illiterate that I'm

I am trying to install a new OEM copy of XP-Pro on a new hard drive.  My
CD-R drive appears to read the XP-Pro CD correctly and starts the

I have just found that the sound won't play, on my pc, from DVDs recorded on
my Mikomo video recorder. The picture is fine, but no sound. Sound plays OK
from recordings made on previous DVD recorders.
Sound is OK when viewing the same Mikomo recordings on my Toshiba laptop.

Some time in the last 4 or five months (I think) a new folder appeared under
My Computer.  It's called Buds PC's Documents.  It holds all the same folders
and files as "My Documents" does.  Under properties it shows this folder name
to be "My Documents" yet the folder name ...
