I have an item in Add/Remove programs that I'd like to delete.
But when I click for it to delete it spends some time and then can't do
something and cancels itself and quits.
I don't know the directory that relates to this app.

if I have to buy everything again.  Does anyone know Microsoft policy on this?
It was an HP PC so with OEM Windows XP home.  I have no disks - only a

When I start my computer, with the DSL modem connected, it hangs continuously
and will not load Windows XP? It used to work O.K. but I recently subscribed
to my ISP's antivirus and firewall programs (Windws firewall is disabled) at
which time they upgraded (increased) my upload ...

I'm trying to temporarily disable McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.5. This is
installed on a laptop that is NOT a member of a domain but is sometimes
connected to a corporate network.  McAfee's anti-tampering feature won't let

This seems a similar problem to that noted by Bea below: as yet unanswered.

Now I know that XP doesn't show if you have 4GB of ram but my question is,
even though it doesn't show it does it still use the 4GB?  If not then,
since I have 2GB now I should only add another 1GB if I need it?

I am running XP Pro.
Intermittently my PC hard drive clicks then produces a BSOD Stop Error.
The message indicates a memory dump??
My Computer is configured to display stop errors as below:

I am running Windows XP Pro service pack 3.  Every time I start my system up
and log in I get a "New Hardware Found" bubble containing the message "VIA
CPU to AGP2.0/AGP3.0".  Could someone tell me why?

I am running XP media center - I had no viruses and everything is scanned
daily.  Yesterday I left my laptop only to return to the below...No new
software or hardware changes were made and no viruses or malware showed on my
daily scan this week...

Periodically a message pops-up asking if I want to compress a mail folder to
save space, and it references one of my Outlook Express folders.
I haven't found any Outlook Express option that addresses this (as it only
seems to reference OE folders), nor have I found any general XP ...
